Gaining Confidence with God's Divine Help

Taking control of your thoughts is one of the most powerful things you can do to gain confidence and change your life! There are all sorts of things that get in the way of having a positive mindset. One is negative thoughts and critical words. It's easy to complain and imagine the worse possibilities that could come to past. Is there any wonder when those thoughts and words become a self-fulfilling prophecy? We talk to ourselves with such unkind words that we would never say to someone else. This is a habit that can be broken and must be because it tears down your confidence and contentment in life! Proverbs 3:26 says,"For the Lord shall be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught in a trap." Being a pessimist or complainer is a trap. One we don't want to be caught in.

Nurture Your Relationship with God.

To live confidently, nurture your relationship with God. That intimacy will allow you to be willing to walk through doors He opens for you, even when you feel unqualified for the quest. It takes effort of the renewing of your mind each day. Speaking with negative words and communicating with a pessimistic attitude keeps us from confidence and robs us of joy. We read in John 15:7, "If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be given to you." God desires to hear from you and feel your love. Take time to make Him and intrinsic part of your life and He will help you.

Lift Others Up with Encouraging Words

Another way to build your confidence is to lift others up with encouraging words. God has planned your life before you were born and will reveal it to you as the Holy Spirit develops you. It is His desire that you are a disciple of His word and a brightly shining light of His love. Care about other people and help them when they need to talk or need advice. Sometimes it's hard for us to speak up. But speak your mind even if your voice trembles. You'll get better and better at it as the Holy Spirit helps you. John 15:7 demonstrates this very fact. "In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by our faith in Him." And we read in Proverbs 16:3, "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." Before you know it you will be walking confidently in God's will and that makes Him smile with love and affection over you!
