Accept Your SItuation
Carry Yourself with Grace
The number one key to peace is to talk to God. Talk to him about your concerns, needs, and people who are causing you stress. Don't forget to start your prayer with blessing God for his faithfulness and provision. Ask God for wisdom. Ecclesiastes 2:26 say, "To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness..." God will give you perfect peace in dubious situations. If you will be seeking reconciliation with a person, pray first for God's wisdom.
Reach out to those with whom you are not getting along. Sometimes it's just a misunderstanding and one person has to reach out first with a humble heart. Whether it's a family member, friend or colleague, be the one who pursues peace in the situation. God has forgiven us every wrong-doing and it is essential that we offer that same grace to others. Life is fragile. You could be missing great memories togther just because you want to be right. Preserving the relationship is a spiritual choice and you can do it with God's help!
ACCEPT YOUR SITUATION
Sometimes at Christmas, we feel low and just can't seem to get into the spirit of the holiday. Maybe you can't get presents for people you want to. Maybe you don't even have a job right now or money is just tight. You need a re-frame. At least you have a roof over your head and God who loves you. We read in Philippians 4:12,13, "I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength."
CARRY YOURSELF WITH GRACE
When we are in God's presence, He gives us strength and joy. Rest in Him, knowing He loves you intensely. Regardless, of your situation, you can walk with your head up with an attitude of grace and peace. When you carry yourself with grace, you demonstrate patience and this pleases God. Don't let small things tick you off needlessly.
An awesome way to have peace during the holidays and all year long is to be an encourager. 1 Corinthians 15:58 tells us, "Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." Build people up, extend a helping, hand and use words that bless others. You may be the bright spot for someone else with the light God shines through you, helping you and them to live a better life.
