How God Sees Me

How God Sees Me

To understand how God sees us, we must first look at how we see ourselves. Many times our opinion about ourselves is based on how we think other people see us. Or we dwell on all those past mistakes and think that we are not worthy of God's love. Sometimes we belittle ourselves in our minds and even call ourselves bad names. This is self-destructive behavior and it makes God sad. The damaging thing is, when we are down ourselves it becomes an actual habit. When negative self-talk becomes a habit, we cannot get close . to God because we are thrusting ourself into a vortex of self-loathing. This is not God's plan for us.

God Sees Me as His Forgiven Child

God created us in His own image. Genesis 1:27 says, "So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God He created them. Both male and female." We are God's children and He wants to be in fellowship with us. Sometimes we miss fellowship with God because we are feeling so down on ourselves. We read in Romans 8:1, "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." When we are fixated on our faults, we sometimes forget we are forgiven. There's a beautiful scripture, Psalm 34:5, that says, "Those who look to Him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed." Turn your thoughts and eyes upon God and let Him reassure you of your value and your worth.

God Sees Me as a Talented Ambassador for Christ

"For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which He prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 10:2. God created us with unique personalities, talents, and abilities. He wants to use us to bring others to Him through love. He created each one of us to love Him and love others. He sees our talents. He put those talents within us. We read in Philippians 1:6, "And I am sure of this, that He that began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ." God is working on us and never expects perfection. He just expects us to follow Him and love Him and do as the Holy Spirit leads us.

God Sees Me as the Love of His Life

Our key scripture is Song of Solomon 4:7. "You are altogether beautiful, my love; There is no flaw in you." God loves each one of us with a love we can barely comprehend. The farther away we get from negative self-talk and lies of the enemy, the better able we are to embrace the one true love, Jesus, that wants to make our life into beauty out of ashes. When we are going through terribly tumultuous times, it's easy to be consumed and take our eyes off of God's love for us. The great news is, we don't have to be afraid of life. God tells us, "For I, the Lord your God, holds your right hand. It is I who says to you...fear not, I am the one who helps you." God wants us to depend on Him during the tough times. Because we are the love of his life! Always hold out hope. He is ever-present, even if we don't feel like He is. God is there. We read in Psalm 46:5, "God is in the midst of her; God will help her when morning dawns."

So as you rise each morning, step out into the world knowing that you are a forgiven child of the King. Know that God calls you talented and valuable. And you, princess, are the love of His life.

"The Lord will hold you for all to see, a splendid crown in the hand of God." ~ Isaiah 62:3
